How the application works

  1. 01

We assess the home and discuss a suitable heat-pump design.

  2. 02

Eligibility and the applicable grant category are checked before funding is relied upon.

  3. 03

An eligible MCS installer applies for the BUS voucher on the owner’s behalf.

  4. 04

Ofgem contacts the property owner to confirm consent.

  5. 05

The grant value is reflected in the agreed project payment route, subject to successful completion and redemption.

Common eligibility considerations

  • The property is in England or Wales
  • The installation replaces an eligible fossil-fuel or direct-electric heating system
  • The technology and installer follow the scheme’s requirements
  • The owner has a valid EPC and any relevant scheme conditions are met
  • Other public funding does not create an excluded combination
Please do not budget against a grant until checked.
